Founded by Umugwaneza Winnie Jeanette , Laini Studio is a celebration of Rwanda's cultural heritage through the timeless art of pottery. Each handcrafted ceramic—whether an elegant tableware set, a distinctive vase, or a decorative piece—embodies a deep connection to the ancestral traditions of craftsmanship.

"Laini" means "soft, fluid" in Swahili, and this is the feeling we aim to convey through every object, every residency, every shared moment.

What type of classes does laini studio offer?

Laini Studio offers a variety of classes for all skill levels, including beginner, intermediate, and advanced pottery techniques. Our classes cover hand- building, wheel-throwing, glazing, and decorative techniques. We also host special workshops ,residencies and seasonal events.

Do you provide all materials needed for classes?

Yes, all necessary materials including clay, glazes, tools are provided as part of the class fee.students are welcome to to bring their own tools if they prefer.

Can I book a private session or group event at laini studio?

What is the cancelation policy for classes and events?

We require at least 72hours notice for cancellations to receive a full refund.cancellations made less than 72hours in advance may incur a fee or lose the deposit.

Are there any age restrictions for classes at laini studio?

Our classes are designated for ages 6-12(kids). 13 and up for adults.we do offer special workshops for younger children and family friendly sessions,so keep an eye on our schedule for those opportunities.

Do you sell finished pottery pieces made at the studio?

Yes ,we have a selection of finished pottery pieces available for purchase in our studio gallery. These pieces are made by our talented instructors. Please note, all in studio sales are final.
